Get your hands on a piece of aviation history with this authentic turbine blade from the Airbus C295, the tactical transport aircraft flown by air forces around the world. It comes from one of its two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G turboprop engines, part of the PW100 family, and belongs to the engine's low-pressure turbine, a single-stage rotor that drives the low-pressure compressor.

Turbine blades sit in the stream of hot gas coming out of the combustion chamber. By the time it reaches this stage the gas has already passed through the high-pressure turbine, but it is still several hundred degrees hot. That is why these blades are short, thick and solid. This one is heavier than it looks: 37 g packed into just 51 mm. Its original part number is still engraved on the part.

The airfoil, the platform and the worn metal surface are all original. Small enough for a desk or a shelf, it's an object with a real story behind it, and one that few people get to see up close.
